Ventura police arrested two suspects accused of stealing over $9,000 worth of computer equipment from a high school earlier this month, authorities said.

The theft was reported March 2 at Ventura High School. Employees at the school reported the stolen property included 37 laptop computers meant for educational purposes, according to the Ventura County Police Department.

An investigation using surveillance footage identified two suspects – age 19 and 20. On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at one of the suspects’ residence. During the search warrant, authorities were able to find all the stolen laptops at the residence and later returned them to the school

The two suspects were booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of multiple felony counts, including commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. One of them remain in custody in lieu of $30,000 bail, while the other has since been released from custody, according to jail records
